06 - Your need for information
When a disaster or emergency occurs, one of your first needs is for information. "911" will probably be busy for a long time. If you have the EOC number, it too, may be busy a long time. If it is a "Worst case scenario" then land line and cell phones are not available and their is no power for tv or radio (unless battery operated). So where do you get LOCAL information? (More later)

07 - 911 signs and road access
If emergency personnel (ambulance, fire, police) are available at Chimicum, it will take them about six (6) minutes to get to the SOUTH end of the Island and about eight (8) minutes to get to the NORTH end. Each minute is precious and can save your life. If they can't find you and get to you, they can't help you. Click here or 911 Signs and Access to inspect your signs and access to your home.
